Blue and Green Smoothie - recipe

This beautifully photogenic smoothie is actually a mix of two different smoothies. Although it takes a little bit longer to make, you can’t beat this recipe if you’re aiming for an Instagram-worthy smoothie to impress your friends and family.

The brilliant blue colour comes from the butterfly pea powder. This Thai herb is rich in antioxidants and is available online. Feel free to use frozen berries as a substitute.

 

Blue and Green Smoothie - recipe

 

Ingredients

Smoothie

3 frozen bananas

1 cup almond milk

2 cups spinach (tightly packed)

1 tsp butterfly pea powder

Feel free to add whatever toppings you like, we suggest trying:

Pomegranates

Kiwifruit

Muesli

 

Directions

Blend the green smoothie using the spinach, and half the bananas and almond milk.

Blend the blue smoothie with the butterfly pea powder and the other half of the bananas and almond milk.

Pour into bowl to serve, aiming to keep the blue smoothie on one side and the green smoothie on the other.

Sprinkle toppings and serve.
