Home Made Bath Bombs

A long soak in a bath is one of life’s great, yet simple pleasures. While we often have a cupboard full of odds and sods when it comes to toiletries – you can make your own as well.

Here is a recipe we have tried and tested, which makes your skin feel lovely, and you can customise with your own scent. Peppermint is uplifting, lavender is soothing or go with something floral like rose for straight enjoyment.

Preparation of bath bombs. Ingredients and floral decor on a wooden vintage table.
To make two bath bombs, you will need:

1/2 cup baking soda

1/4 cup epsom salts

1/4 cup citric acid

1/4 cup cornflour

3 tsp essence of your choice

1 tbsp coconut oil

1 tsp water

Method:

Mix all the dry ingredients together and then add the coconut oil mixture and mix well to combine. Add the water gradually and press into a mould. Chill or freeze for 30 minutes. Use in a bath to add effervescence, soften your skin and add scent.
