Liver detoxifying green smoothie
The veggies and fruit found in this smoothie are all claimed to help keep the liver healthy. By blending rather than juicing the ingredients you are able to keep all precious fibre which will keep you fuller for longer, fibre also keeps your digestive tract healthy and it slows down the absorption of sugar.
If you want a clean start to your day or a healthy pick me up, this smoothie is perfect.
- 1/2 cup pineapple
- 2 large cucumbers
- 1 bunch kale or spinach without stems (about 4 cups chopped)
- 1/2 lemon, squeezed
- 1/4 inch of ginger grated
- 1 bunch of mint (about 1/2 cup)
Chop ingredients so they are able to fit into a blender, add everything to your blender and add enough water to cover half of the ingredients. Blend until smooth. If it’s too thick for your liking add some more water and blend again.
Add some ice cubes and serve immediately.
Please note: You can store this juice for up to 24 hours. Pour it into an airtight container, leaving as little airspace as possible to reduce oxidation, and store it in the refrigerator. Mason jars and lids work really well for this.
