Well, herewith an economic  trick  question to think about, which (for those interested in politics)  –  cannot be ignored in politics:

For  better  economic  security and welfare  in a sustainable  way –

do we  need as a priority  more wealth  creation  or  consumption ?

Obviously, we need more wealth creation.
That wil enourage consumption and provide money for public services, like defence, secutiry, and roads and rail.
When people are wealthy, they employ other people.

    Right you are, Digmen 12.

And if  you think a little more, you will discover  that anything to be  consumed for  survival must exist or be created  first, before it is available for consumption !!!

This  raises  the  crucial  question  for all mankind to think about and let everyone  know:

How is  any wealth to be created  that is not meant  for ” hand-to-mouth” consumption?

Well  –  does  no  comment on this   question  mean  it offends people  by implying ignorance  about this  basic  matter ?

Or because huiatahi, gabyone  and others  may think it is an irrelevant question to those  who are  simply  for whatever  reason  unable  to take up – or participate  in  –   wealth creation because of  no income ?

But if so – then  unless  they are opposed  to wealth ownership creation in principle and  don’t want it even be  mentioned  because  they  are  interested  only in wealth redistribution  – then –

unless they  prefer  continuing  socio-economic class division  into  wealth creators and  wealth consumers –

should they  not  be keenly interested  in  a social  order including  even  the  totally  disabled to participate in their  own wealth ownership  creation  and with this we achieving a more egalitarian  society with  meaningful wealth  ownership widening to all ?

A father before he died said to his son: “This is a watch your grandfather gave me, and it’s more than 200 years old. But before I give it to you, go to the watch shop on the first street, and tell him I want to sell it, and see how much he offers you.“

He went, and then came back to his father, and said, “The watchmaker offered $5 because it’s old.“

He said to him: “Go to the coffee shop.“ He went and then came back, and said: “He offered $5 father.“

“Go to the museum and show them that watch.“ He went then came back, and said to his father “They offered me $1 million for this piece.“

The father said: “I wanted to let you know that the right place values you in the right way. Don’t find yourself in the wrong place and get angry if you’re not valued. Those that know your value are those who appreciate you, don’t stay in a place where nobody sees your value.“

    Know your worth.

I think Jens, the reason nobody will comment is because you constantly choose a thread that is popular in order to put forward your opinions on wealth creationism. Perhaps you would be better starting a forum just for that purpose.

I started this thread some years ago for people who are interested in the type of posts I, and many others, are interested in.

My last post above has this advice and it is very worthwhile….

“I wanted to let you know that the right place values you in the right way. Don’t find yourself in the wrong place and get angry if you’re not valued. Those that know your value are those who appreciate you, don’t stay in a place where nobody sees your value.“

    Know your worth.

    Cheers, Supergold

Thanks  Supergold, but  in an unsatisafactory  situation (existence of poverty), is it not actually necessary, responsible  and even desirable to go  there  where   a healing  message is least wanted to be heard  for the possibly uncomfortably  increased  responsibility and effort it may call for  ?

Digmen12 – I fully agree with  you  that for meeting all our  needs and wants, we need  more  wealth creation.

But to promote this  basic  cause, would it not  be very helpful to propose and discuss what we  consider the  most effective and  convenient ways  of  more wealth creation ?

We  do not have  to agree on it all,  but  the discussion alone  might    be  already  helpful  for  more getting  done on it, than what has been done  so far  only  by a  section of population.

Even those Green  are welcome  to  “chip in”, who believe  more  wealth creation is  polluting,  and poverty should  be eliminated by redistributing  most of the  income (and property?)  of the rich.

If there were no reward. No one would work. You have all probably read the story of the little red hen.

totara – I have  not read that story possibly applying to a  special situation – because in reality, isn’t even collecting  apples for  food in  Paradise work to feed yourself to keep alive ?

And if  Paradise  runs out of apples and  all your  efforts are  unprofitable   –  then would  you not  starve even  earlier  the  harder  you  work ?
