Beware, thieves are about. This morning I received an E mail supposedly from ASB, addressed Dear Valued Customer. An incredibly obvious scam, I do not have an account with ASB so am not a Valued Customer. A reply address was attached with a mention of an update to my account. Could anyone fall for this rubbish?

Thank you for the warning don021.  😯  They keep trying, don’t they  🙁

Yes we get those types of emails from ASB, ANZ, BNZ & just about every other bank there is around. Also ones regularly from Apple asking us to update our details etc. We are not customers of any of them apart from one bank & we know they wouldn’t be contacting us like that via email! I guess they go out to millions of email addresses & if they only get one or two responses in so many thousand that makes it worthwile to them. I can see how people could get hoodwinked if their actual bank name is used though & they don’t realise its spam. There seems to be a surge of different spam of all different sorts & names & ficticious business’ the past few weeks too I’ve noticed. We keep blocking the senders, yet before long there they are again with monotonous regularity!

As the children born and raised in the commune grounds up without knowledge of another way of life then they will mostly “Want” to stay!

Makes one feel sorry for them!

Lilith7, isn’t Gloriavale a working model of socialism when the organisation takes care of and provides for the needs of the group. Is it any different from our Government exploring ways of taking money from those who have and sharing it with those who have not. Surely we should support all models that make provision to supply the needs of all members of the group?

From the little I know about socialism Halycon,it does tend to value & hold equal, men & women.

Gloriavale does not &  I don’t favour supporting a cult.

And Neither do I, especially one that is led by a convicted “Child Molester”

According to what I’ve read in online comments about Gloriavale, there may be a bit of a power struggle for leader between Howard Temple, known as the “Overseeing Shepherd’s Appointed Successor”, and secretary/treasurer Fervent Steadfast.

Either way I suspect its going to continue for years, & perhaps permanently.

Amazing how the law , Govt. and Social Welfare have a code of silence where this sect is concerned. That a convicted paedophile was able to even be in the presence of children let alone organise sexual alliances between children of puberty age  and arrange marriages between them, is beyond my understanding.   Wonder how far his actual activity went. Brings to mind the Royalty law where the wedded couple consummated their marriage and the stained bedsheets proved the heir was the actual  father in case of a pregnancy.  The law is definately “An Ass” in sheeps clothing.   Are these marriages legal and are they even registered with the Dept. of the Marriage   Births and Deaths?

They are legal and the sect won’t dob in the offenders so they get away with it.

They may even believe it is OK given the way the Biblical chapters Deuteronomy and Numbers could be skewed

Ebola has arrived in Mbandaka in the Democratic republic of the Congo
This City of nearly 2 Million could be the beginning of a worldwide epidemic

And all we get from the media is a wedding that is meaningless to 90% of the worlds population
