That is sad to hear Biddyliz. Another gem from the earlier days of G/ups.

Foss will be much missed. As well as being a really nice person, he was incredibly witty.#1727234BiddylizMemberMember since: December 14, 2007

I’m only new to this site. I live in Upper Hutt and have been here for about a month. I am from Sydney, Australia but my daughter lives in Upper Hutt and I am staying here with her until the end of March 2020. During this time, I will be travelling around New Zealand but expect most of my time will be spent around Upper Hutt and Wellington, getting to know my granddaughter who is only 7 months old.
At the end of March, I will be taking off to do a little trip around the world before coming back to New Zealand. Even though I have not yet made up my mind, there is a good chance I will make New Zealand my home.
Other than my daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law and some of there friends, I don’t really know anyone, so hoping to make some new friends. Not sure if this is the right site for that but nothing ventured, nothing gained.

HI Peter Welcome to the site and to Upper Hutt. Grownups get togethers are a good way of meeting new people. But as well you need to join a few things, depending ,of course ,upon what interests you. It might be a wise move to get in touch with the Upper Hutt Citizens Advice Bureau. They will be able to give you information. Also ,you will find the Information Centre to have information on hand. The library too will be of help. They have classes there and various things such as “hot seats” -where you can ask any questions you have on the subject in hand. There are regular Justice -of-the -Peace”hot seats” as well as mayoral ones and I think that are others too. You did not say where in Upper Hutt you live and whether you have transport.
