Desi and I have just watched the very sad but great Vincent Ward movie on Maori Tv this evening. “Rain OF the Children” It focussed on one womans life Puhi. and her childrenand familylife. and Rena Owen of Once were Warriors was magnificent in it. It is all about the Tuhoe people and It was deeply moving to us.
Desi and I will look at going to the movies in the next week or two and post possibilities on this thread later this week.

We congratulate our West Coast Friends celebrating the Blackball Hiltons Centenary. Here is an
interesting website to visit.
And we dedicate this poem
WESTLAND by JK.
Tis Westland with its wet skies and soft rains for me
The Westland with its green woods and its old, strung sea.
Hokitika,Westport, Reefton and the Grey—
God send that I may come again another day.
In the dark woods, the deep woods, the bright lakes gleam,
And there, through a summers day an idle man might dream,
While the silver wavelets stumble and whisper as they fall,
And the hills hold the echoes of the tuis silver call
Bright cascades flashing are tumbling through the trees,
And you hear a hundred rivers that know no rest or ease
Theres snow upon the mountains, theres gold on the sands,
Sure Westland is the loveliest of all fairy lands.
You,ll see there the Irish eyes of clear, grey blue,
That tell you when a womans soul is always true.
And the strong man,the big man, will somehow
make you feel
That you have to go to Westland to find the hearts of steel.
Tis Westland with its wet skies and its kind rain for me,
Its deep lakes, its big hills and its old grey sea,
The strong men are kind men,and the colleens so fair,
That when you leave Westland, your heart stays there.:D
