How many of us answered the questionaire from the ACC and also filled in the alternate at http://www.weonlygetonechance.co.nz/

Do you think it is any use answering these things? Are they just going to do what they want to do anyway? In the meantime the rates go up and up to support the profligate spending.

I have come to the conclusion that maybe the best way to govern our countries is like a big business with a tender being awarded to the most suitable company .There is so much graft, dishonesty and corruption whereas if its a job where people get paid on results then maybe this crap we see as government by the people for the people as long as they do what we say comes to an end

I agree – it just seems that more money is thrown at problems with no better result. It does make sense to look at the country as a business – I don’t think they usually have over a 100 Board Members though!

I shake my head sometimes at the illogical decisions sometimes. I heard someone suggest that we should take the “Top 20 Business People”, and let them govern the country….but then….???? it all seems to be a wrought.

R/E, Hospital Radiologist strike, I agree that these specialists should have a decent wage for the great job that they do and our so-called Labour government should set up a Salary Commission
that awards every citizen with an annual increase as-of- right and
get rid of this Higher Salary Commission that favours only those that do not really need or deserve it !! This is causing a greater gap between the have and have nots, and to my mind it was much fairer when everyone received the standard cost of living allowance every year and wage percentage did not enter into the equation!! This could slow down the ever increasing gap!!! Opinons please ?

Whilst on the subject of politics, what about Race -related political parties ? I firmly believe that this should be outlawed because they are formed basically ( usually by radicals ) to benefit one ethnic-group!! Let us take up the one Newzealand for
all, regardless of colour race or origin, and do away with all this P.C. rubbish.

I did not answer the Tank Farm questionnaire because I have no (strong) opinions on it – but I do believe those that have definite opinions or propositions, should submit them. If there are many independent opinions in a certain direction, the chances are good that they will be considered, that they have influence one way or the other. (A majority of views can sometimes be shown to be wrong). Jens.

golden-oldie – you are talking sense! So what do you think about “Ownership Democracy” through a deliberate govt. policy effort towards at least a minimally meaningful level of selfgenerated wealth ownership by all citizens eventually?
Then we would not be socio-economically split into “haves” and “have-nots”, and we would all have more co-operative interests than at present, where we spend a lot of energy competing for a bigger slice of the cake at someone else’s expense. -?- – Jens.

OK. I am managing to keep my head my above water as the costs keep rising rapidly. I would never qualify to be a politician as I am only good at beginnings and ends but useless in the middle. If you are not a top politician you are just one of the herd and either toe the party line or risk being treated like a traitor. The country is governed by the cabinet members who, half the time, go along with the status quo. There are so many issues on the agenda today, and how they all get addressed, let alone solved and implemented, is beyond this person. Everyone wants a piece of the fiscal cake, but the needs seem to get greater and varied. Perhaps more NZ’s should take charge of their own slap happy journey through life and take care of how they use what they have. We spend like there is no tomorrow as the State will look after us. We just might be the last generation to be looked after by the State. A politician only has to stay there for nine years to retire with perks we can only dream of.
