I have yesterday completed my 1,305th Heritage Walk of Christchurch. Last evening 17 joined me for a walk in Richmond Shirley called The Boulevard Banks Mansions Mosey. We walked downstream along the Avon River to Evelyn Couzins Ave where I talked about the Bassett family home and RIVERBANK OWEN or Richard Bedward Owen the man credited with saving Millbrook Reserve for Christchurch Citizens. We walked past the 53 Lime Trees some planted by Christchurchs notables of 1929 I spoke of HUIA BEAUMONT a notable Richmond resident and the boat he had moored at Medway St. Rondino. before referring to an early home of prominent Chemist James George Hanafin in Medway S We continud to Banks Ave. admiring ahome across river in Avonside Drive of John Puschels an early Avonside Woolscour pioneer. We then enjoyed 7 Banks ave masions inc. those of Henry Dent Gardiner, Dr. Finch & Leonard Banks & William Robinson. In North Parade we looked at historic Willowbridge home of Walter Chapman 1918 and further along Alfred Craddocks LittleBourne home now Marian College and Sir Valdemar & Lady Marion Skellerups home before returning along North Parade/Evelyn Couzins Avenue and River Rd to start of our ninetuy minute walk. Next Tuesdays walk is "THE OLD OAK TREE BLEST MADMAN MEANDER " and commences at 6pm on cnr of SULLIVAN AVE/ENSORS RD. CARPE DIEM
