My husband and I are both on the super, (our only income) other than a bit of savings, so why when we went to Cinema 8 in Tauranga I was charged full rates because I am not yet 65 surely when you can produce your Super Gold card you should be entitled to the same rights as the person over 65. I find this totally unfair, as I have to live on the same amount as my husband, even though I told the person, she didn't give a hoot.
Other times we have been we have had no problems, so they obviously have changed their ideas.
There must be dozens of people who have older spouses and are in the same boat.
I have also had the same problem from Valentines Restaurant.

by mouse1 15th June 2008 I to thought non super age members were covered by the card for discounts..I fact I thought I had read somewhere that that was the case. Maybe a letter to Winston would be a good idea. He seems very active supporting the "mature" person and the super card is his baby.
by Rose 16th June 2008 Thanks for your comment, glad someone else feels as I do, I have been giving the idea of contacting Winston alot of thought.
by Joybel 21st September 2008 It certainly does not seem right, Rose and a contact with the theatre manager may help here. Isn't there always a hitch just when you think lifes given you a gift. I agree with contacting Winston as you are in his territory.
by Rose 23rd September 2008 I have had contact with the Super Centre and they say unless they are part of the Gold Card system you can't do anything about it.
by gokiwi68 26th April 2009 I am a kiwi living in California right now...be home soon....but I find that 55 yrs old gets the discounts for seniors here....its great...all the resturants etc etc etc
