When you are considering new flooring for your house, there are many things you need to think about. What is the impression you are trying convey, and how durable does the floor need to be? When people come into your home, there are going to be many things that they look at, but the floor is one that you can't hide or keep out of sight!

With this in mind, there are many reasons that you might want to take advantage of the bamboo flooring that is making quite a splash in recent years. People are just beginning to appreciate the advantages that this kind of flooring can provide and now you can take advantage of it too.

Bamboo flooring is made from one of the toughest, hardest species of bamboo that grow in China and produces a type of flooring that is just as durable, if not more so, than hardwood flooring like oak. Far from simply being strips of bamboo that are laid down in their natural state, this type of flooring is made from laminating strips of bamboo together, creating flooring that can be installed by being glued together or laid down.

You'll find with a little bit investigation that bamboo flooring is more cost-effective than hardwood flooring, more durable and certainly more environmentally friendly. If one or all of these factors sound good to you, check out your nearest supplier of bamboo flooring today!

Bamboo flooring is also amazingly easy to maintain. Some spot cleaning or refinishing might be necessary from time to time, but no more than with hardwood floors. You can even change the color and texture of the floor to something that you prefer with some sanding or refinishing. With it's signature durability, you'll find that bamboo is one of the best types of flooring for you around.

Besides providing a unique look, bamboo flooring is also versatile. It can be cut to fit any floor plan and is suitable for a wide variety of rooms. While a soft rug would look quite lovely on the smooth bamboo floor, this type of flooring is at its best when you make it one of the focuses of a room. If you have need for studio space, whether it is for watercolors or yoga, bamboo flooring will enhance the peace and beauty of the room while providing you with a strong, smooth surface to work in.

When you walk into a room with bamboo flooring, you'll be taken aback by the way natural light reflects off of it. You can get bamboo flooring with our without the signature nodes that mark it as being bamboo, and once again, this depends on what sort of look you are interested in.

Whether you're considering a whole new look or just need to replace a worn out, floor, consider bamboo for all of your flooring needs!

by bambooflooring 13th October 2009 Many argue that bamboo flooring is environmentally friendly because it is a fast-growing resource. Bamboo grows to maturity within three to five years, while traditional hardwoods such as oak mature after one hundred years! However, products are not considered environmentally friendly just by evaluating their source.
by zzdr 15th October 2008 we recently built a new home and had bamboo flooring in the living area.It was great for a few months but then began to cup -we have had to have the floor sanded. My advice would be to make sure you get an experienced builder and check the quality of bamboo supplied.
