Spice Up Your Garden

Article By Alice Clipper

Many homeowners will agree that how you decorate your garden and the techniques you use to make your garden unique will have a great impact on the overall value of your home. Not only are gardens great for entertaining but they also add a lot of curb appeal to your home.

For those of you new to the garden scene, there are many types of garden decor that will add some spice to your oasis. Try one (or all) of these five things and your garden will be blooming with delight in no time at all:

1.Rocks.

Rocks are probably the single most important decor pieces in any garden. Not only do rocks add style and uniqueness to your creation but they also keep your garden looking clean-cut and put-together. You can also use large rocks as seating areas, if your garden"s space allows for such features.

2.Waterfalls and fountains.

A backyard garden (or front garden for that matter) just wouldn"t be the same without the waterworks. Decorative water pieces like small fountains, waterfalls and ponds will add a lot to your overall look and will make your garden very inviting for backyard wildlife like birds and butterflies.

3.Garden Lighting.

You spend a lot of time on your garden and you"ll want to enjoy your creation as much as possible. Garden lighting will allow you and your guests to enjoy the features of your garden even after the sun goes down. Specialty lighting for gardens and walkways can be purchased at any hardware store.

4.Seating.

Benches and chairs are an integral part of any garden. Why go through all of the work to create a wonderful garden if you can"t sit out with a book and a cup of tea and enjoy it. Not only are benches and chairs functional but they also make your garden appear more welcoming. No garden is complete without seating.

5.Garden Accessories.

In addition to flowers and plants, gardens also require an abundance of other accessories like bird houses and bird feeders to complete the look. Bird houses and feeders make your garden appear nicer and are a great way to promote backyard wildlife.

We hope our suggestions have helped you create the backyard oasis of your dreams. Don"t worry, your neighbours will be green with envy!
