Our son was very special
we loved him come what may,
We never thought
we'd see the day
He'd lose his life this way.
We suffer now in silence
our loss is so severe,
yet all the while we listen for,
his voice again to hear.
It never should've happened
my heart cries out in vain,
A parent can't
outlive their child
and live with all this pain.

Your poems are so sad, they made me cry. It is so unfair and must be a terrible thing to lose a child. I lost my husband many years ago and it was unbearable. I've come to terms with it now but know it wouldn't be the same if I lost one of my two lovely sons. I also found a kind of solace in writing my feelings down in poetry. I hope your poetry gives you strength. There are many people out there who know how you feel. Chin up love!
