Oh wonderous life for living that my birth has granted,
Play on for me your tragedies and hold my mind enchanted, Reveal to me my successes and happy moments too,
Open wide your curtains , so that I may view, The frustrations of my living, on sanity so demanding,
The questions to be answered and the almost understanding, The happy expectations and many chances blighted,
Passings to be mourned for and horizons to be sighted, Yes let me see from old-age, the living that was best,
The strong hand warm in friendship and feeding from the breast, Then show to me the ending of life, so bitter-sweet,
But leave me every memory within my soul to keep, And after the final curtain, with the wisdom you can give,
I may start my next life knowing, why I am, I exist, I live!

Thanks silverdays..Enjoyed yours also.. Amazing that allowing for different styles, there is a comonality of treatment of the basic themes of that biggy, (The meaning of Life) by most who explore that topic. Some, but by no means all of my poems have garnished my books, 'An Almost Understanding' and 'New Zealand Policeman', but it is rare for readers to send feedback to an author. With friends on the web, it is so much more rewarding to get candid comment..I really appreciate it.
