Sky verses FREEVIEW & Sport!!!

I don't have Sky, and refuse to pay for it, as it would chain me to the couch so I could get value for my money. BUT it would be nice to have delayed coverage of major sporting events such as the final of the super 14 and rugby test matches broadcast free. It is no wonder the grass roots supporter base for sport in New Zealand is dwindling, and we do not have the youngsters coming through to international competition in sports such as Rugby, Tennis and Netball. How can one be enthusiastic about a sport if you are denied watching it in terms of cost? I think that TVNZ has a case in that free TV should be granted delayed coverage after a match has already started for any major sport of national interest. TVNZ have a FREEVIEW sports channel - and I ask WHY are they NOT using it to its full potential. The pride of New Zealand and getting them involved is at stake here. If we have no pride, then we might as well be Aussies! But I have at least ended up getting PRIME - cost was a one off fee of $145 which includes Dish, Decoder, installation and setup so guess that's a small compromise, and with FREEVIEW and TVNZ channel 7 it all helps to pass the evening, but without access to the Kiwi tradition of sporting events.
