There are competitions galore in magazines, on the computer, stuck on grocery items, almost every where.I won two movie passes with the Older and Bolder Crossword. It had nothing to do with being clever but more with the luck of the draw. Some winners have to resort to Fair Go for a prize won.

I often enter puzzle competitions in magazines Joybel, though no luck so far in winning anything. I just enjoy the challenge.

Hi joybel and rosie. I really like the magazine "thats Life" good stories about ordinary folk and great puzzles. I dont always send in to the competitions, its my form of relaxation and destressing. Good crosswords, sudoko and many other forms of puzzles. I havent won anything but my x daughter in law won a house full of furniture.

I always have good intentions of entering competitions but when I finally get round to it I usually find the entry date has passed by long ago!! :-(

I have to be totally bored to do the mag. comps., especially those Mega crosswords which are so easy. I usually just do the clues around the magic coloured squares and then I don't always get the answers. I never get around to sending the coupon as the chances of winning a prize are as remote as a win in Lotto.

I've just got back to this thread and notice Granwolf's post on 21st July. If you want to get some easy money just write one of your life's stories and send it to That's Life! I did that twice and each time my story was published! What a hoot. And I got paid very handsomely, even had my picture in the magazine. I was rapt! Cheers Pixie

Did you really Pixie - which issue was that? I read 'That's Life' all the time. Well done - a writer in our midst!

Thats great Pixie, I really like the stories in thats life. About real things and real people, none of the show biz glitz and glamour. Have often thought of submitting a few stories. At this end of life we sure have a lot of interesting experiences to tell. You may just have given me the inspiration I need to stop procrastinating. Thankyou. Granwolf

Rosie, it was quite a few years ago, 1999 in fact. I keep meaning to send other stories in but haven't got round to it. They have to fit the bill, of course. Actually I've been writing for many years now, been published in papers, writer's magazines etc and have just entered a short story in the Sunday Star-Times Short story comp. I figure someone has to be win and it might be me! Yeah! Write! Cheers Pixie

Thanks for your kind words bobbity. I belong to a writing group and for over two years we all try to write a new memory story each week. We have challenges and our recent ones were stories about: favourite shoes, special dress, cooking disasters and getting a driver's licence. Absolutely hilalrious! Cheers Pixie
