Just went onto your link Piersdad.....thankyou for sharing your story from your Father. I am so passionate about recording our history, as we are still very much a foundling nation. My forbears arrived in Wanganui in 1846 which was a raw mushroom settlement of Wellington. About 200 inhabitants. Have records of all the "wars" that eventuated. Fascinating. Perhaps you should put your link in the Genealogy site as well

My forebears were also early arrivals to Wanganui although i have little detail would like to learn more, perhaps somehow that information could be shared,
