Hi Dave, I am doing my best to enter the competition for the Downton Abbey prize. For some reason I am repeatedly being told to enter a valid email address. I am unable to submit as mine is not acceptable.

Dave, I'm a bit unhappy by the degeneration into smut in the Daily Haha thread. The occasional 'off' joke is OK but one member in particular seems to be submitting absolute screeds and they are all overboard. Could you please ask him/her to tone it down considerably? Many thanks.

No one is blaming you AP or trying to get you barred, don't worry.

Unfortunately the solution of putting aaa@aaa.com as your first contact is actually a fallacy and was disproven on the website Snopes.com.
I'd recommend everyone check this site out, it is wonderful for clarifying if something is true or not. If you receive an email that seems odd or out of place, like someone offering free puppies or a new method of hacker protection, then check Snopes.com and use their search function to see if it is legitimate.
As for the hacked account, unfortunately all you can really do is change the password on your account and warn everyone that it didn't come from you (as you've done). This kind of thing is fairly common and happens to a lot of mail services. As Bryan suggests, there are many varied ways hackers can access your system. From emailed viruses to actually hacking your account.
While this isn't a GrownUps issue but I'm happy to answer your questions on it and offer any advice I can.
