Could anybody please tell me if they have had an adverse reaction or side effects from the drug Noroxin - norfloxacin. I have tried this drug in the past and had bad side effects and two others in my family have had side effects - one extremely bad and rushed to hospital twice. Doctors admitted that is was from the side effects of this drug and it will be a long road to recovery. According to the internet it does terrible things to your body and the side effects can last for up to 12 months after you stop taking it. I am interested in any other people who have had similar problems with it as after so many recent cases disclosing bad effects of medication I hope to push for this drug to be banned as it is overseas.

Go for it Jan !
Your personal experience will hold you steadfast in your purpose.

I would not be surprised though, if there are some who take it with no side effects showing up at all, as this does happen.

There will be others with slight side effects and some with extreme effects, as proven in your family.

Since I personally have never taken this drug I can't support you out there, but I just wanted to acknowlege you and encourage you.

Many thanks for your support. The more I hear about drugs the doctors are pushing the more I can see just how the drug companies are ruling the world. When you start looking at different sites including the Mayo Clinic you realise just what damage they can do to our bodies. I really believe that we are what we eat and all diseases and illnesses are due to an imbalance of chemicals and vitamins within our bodies. Get that balance right and you wont get sick. My doctor now asks me what I am taking when I visit her.(only for blood tests etc now) She tried to get me to take one medication and when I said that it stops certain things happening in the body there was silence and then she said "Yes well I accept that" and she dropped the subject so I know that they realise what problems are caused by certain medications. Once again thanks for your encouragement.

I have found that drinking Grapefruit juice is the best thing for an infection 'down below'. It gets rid of that burning feeling that hurts so much. I am no doctor, but drinking Grapefruit Juice works for me.

That is so good to know Gigglebyte!
I hope others see your comment. It's the first time I have heard of the grapefruit "treatment".
Just a thought. If anyone is on Warfarin or other blood thinners, apparently grapefruit is a "nono". This is because it is also a blood thinner from what I know and would cause over thinning. (also celery and other foods) Personally I would rather drink the grapefruit juice.
wink

Anyone taking one of the statins for cholesterol shouldn't be drinking grapefruit juice either.
Hi Bobbity, long time no talk.
