Not dissimilar to the treatment meted out to others - the Cathars, for example - by Christians in earlier times.
Religion - of whatever sort - has a great deal to answer for.

"Religion - of whatever sort-" ...an interesting term!! My dictionary defines religion as "the worship of a god or gods' I know people whose god is their car, their TV, their home, their body!

Christianity is also loosely used to define anyone who ever steps inside a Church, rather than someone who has had a personal encounter with the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and chosen to follow His teachings.

There are many counterfeits..and no-one is perfect!
And though I will not wear a label..."Nevertheless, I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I've committed unto Him, against that day!" (2 Timothy 1:12)

I have only just found this thread and I don't agree that Muslims have no respect for other faiths. I have worked with then and have Musim friends and they are always willing to share. There are exceptions, just like any religion, but you cannot expect them to celebrate our religious holidays. We don't celebrate theirs. If you want to understand them there are plenty of books at the library, including the Koran. They have stirct rules, just like some other religions and cults have strict rules. Study of other religions will give you an understanding of what makes people tick and it's really interesting.

Religion 'Ye gods' save us from religious zealots. I care not which way one bends the knee or whether one points your rear end to the the West. LEAVE THE REST OF US ALONE. If you want to bomb the excrement out of people do it unto thine selves, leave the rest of the world alone. I find it truly amazing that mankind got along so well without religion until about 4.000 years ago. Religious people go away and live in your perceived nirvana and leave the rest of us alone.

Well Mozz, if you dont like this discussion, you dont have to be a part of it! We all have our views.. so find a thread that you are comfortable with, just as we have. I dont think anyone is trying to convert you, but we are not going away either! By the way..there is a big difference between your "Religious" people, and those that are naturally spiritual.

True Shemac - I remember being completely flabbergasted, the first time I realised that Christianity was considered to have a spiritual aspect.
