Has anyone had any luck trying to eliminate them. This last year my arms have become dotted with then and some are quite large. At my age I guess they are going to happen, but now I feel I should wear long sleeved tops. I found this list of home remedies so will give one a go.

The cost of the "guaranteed' ones would feed me for a week. Better look for the sunscreen first.
1

Use a good natural sunscreen. Sunscreen can prevent age spots in the first place by protecting your skin from the sun. Use a sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher for best results in preventing and getting rid of age spots.
2

Chop or grind an onion in a blender and use a strainer to extract the juice from the onion. Mix one part of apple cider vinegar and one part of onion juice together. Take a cotton pad and dab the vinegar and onion juice directly to your skin where the age spots are. Do this once per day for six weeks or until the age spots are gone.
3

Rub aloe vera juice or gel onto the age spots twice a day. You should see results of the aloe vera working within a month. If you do not see any results, keep applying the aloe vera until you do. Aloe vera is a natural healing product for skin.
4

Dab some fresh lemon juice directly onto the age spots twice a day or until the age spots are gone. Lemon juice is a natural way to eliminate age spots and other skin ailments. If you plan to go outside after using the lemon juice on your skin, wait until it dries because lemon juice can make the skin more sensitive to the sun. The lemon juice should eliminate the age spots within two months.
5

Rub some Castor oil onto the age spots once in the morning and again in the evening. Castor oil should eliminate the age spots within a month.
6

Apply some Vitamin E oil directly on the age spots every day to fade the age spots and eliminate them.

Good luck Joybel and keep us informed. I can understand the lemon juice working as it's sort of a bleach. Be careful selecting a sunscreen as my Mum's arms have been itching like crazy lately and she's realised she's allergic to the sunscreen she's been using. Anyway sunscreen won't eliminate the spots but might stop more from developing. Personally I think we're just stuck with these little blighters as a natural consequence of aging. Aint life grand! neutral

It will have to be available here in NZ, majorminor. Imagine the cost to bring a pint of Cocoanut oil into NZ. As I am 80 years old I am passed worrying about looking like a botoxed hair bleached Zsa Zsa Gabor.

lollol Good for you Joybel! Anyway you're far better looking than Zsa Zsa Gabor. At least you don't have a perpetually surprised look on your face. mrgreen

I'm going to check out my local health shop to see what they've got in the way of pure coconut oil. Now that I know what to look out for it could be interesting to see what they stock.
