Why isn't the Labour Group shouting from the rooftops like they have been for the last few weeks. Has their spin "Doctors" run out of spin? Has all the computers been blocked up with so much shite being typed on them over the last few weeks? Has every body gone on holiday as they have overworked their little brain trying to think up ways of conning some unsuspecting people into voting for the disappearing Labour Group? Have the marchers and flag bearing who once thought they were local yokels and "Hero's" decided that the "end is nigh" and beat a fast track to oblivion?

What a great result we had in Dunedin South. Our job was to consult and advise voters to give the Party vote to National as Labour would win the Electorate. This door to door campaigning has worked greatly to our advantage as for the first time we have won the party vote substantially. Labour have also had a large drop in their candidate vote. This gives us great incentive to start a three year campaign for this vote. We also know that this will be the last term for their Candidate so if we start quietly working away in the Electorate from now till next Election we will have a good show of taking it next time. Our private polling showed that we would get the Party vote of which we did and this has given us a great incentive to also look for an Electorate win next time.

Fancy National winning eight out of nine polling booths in Mosgiel. This has never happened before in Mosgiel. It is fast becoming a blue seat. We have been so enthused by this result that we are now concentrating on the South Dunedin and hill suburbs of the Electorate . If we work as hard as we did in this campaign National will be a home run next time as it was rumoured before the election that Curran will not be the Labour Candidate next time.
Next year will be the year for doing the spade work .

OPINION: It is the morning after election night. Hundreds of politicians, party strategists and, especially, parliamentary staff have woken up with the smug satisfaction that they are still employed. But my every thought and empathy is with the losers........
