Is that the blue floppy stuff that needs a metal thingy to keep its shape? I was given some, and have used it without problems. We haven't got smoke alarms in the kitchen - they are in the bedrooms!

I have used silicon bakeware & not had any problems with smoke alarm. Mine are red and only complaint I have is that muffins tend to look a bit pale on bottom but taste just fine.

I will have to take the smoke alarm down before I cook in silicone in future, The same problem occurs cooking in the pronto oven as well, I have an open plan living area
