Hello Roonie,
Yes, your wireless netbook should be able to connect ok to the wi-fi in your apartment in Italy. You will need to ask at reception of the office or whatever, for the password, and enter it into the netbook when you want to connect.
PS: Lucky you, going to Italy, wow!
