Hi there....Good for you for quitting ....the best decision you have ever made ......I LOVE THE FREEDOM of not smoking....... I quit last year, smoked for 47 years and it is not easy, after this long having a habit it takes a long time to form another ie. not smoking..I was on the patches for a short while and joined up with a site called http://www.about.com/ scroll the topics for "smoking cessation" I joined and did the mileage there I was hardly off the site when first quit I relapsed a couple of times by having a few cigs but got back on the wagon ........I had so much support from other smokers like myself they are the only ones that understand what you are going through It is a process you go through not an event that is over with in a month I can take up to 12 months for you to go through seasonal triggers ......an educated quit is a successful quit
http://www.whyquit.com/ is a great read if you want help just let me know I don't mind supporting

Hi! I quit smoking 10 years ago, on my third attempt.
Yep very hard.
You are currently under some sort of trial, and I would hate to confuse issues by offering advice.
A lot of the smoking habit (notice I said a lot, not all) are set off by triggers. Try to abstain at trigger points.
I started by stopping smoking when I was in my car.
I managed to extend this to not smoking at "smoko" times at work.
At home I would make myself go outside for a cigarette. This a conscious decision that could only hurt shareholders of tobacco companies. Why am I doing this? The house is cleaner, smells better and some greedy shareholder is not making as much money out of my mug habit as they were.
I could rave on. I won't.
Good luck, and best wishes.

Search for a local hypnotherapist. I have helped a number of people stop smoking with hypnotherapy. Karin from www.thebodyandmindtherapist.co.nz

My sister-in-law, a lovely lady who was a smoker, died last October. She died from two kinds of cancer. My brother misses her every day. However a person goes about giving up, the important thing is to Give Up.

I have just signed up through the hospital trial combined with Otago Uni for the new Zonnic spray combined with patches. It is aimed at us smokers that want to or need to give up smoking. I have made a lot of hard decisions in my life, but count this as one of the toughest I have had to face up to. Anybody else on this trial ? Or any tryed and true ideas out there to help me stop smoking.
