Sande, you should at least be receiving a caregiver's allowance. There may well be other things to which you are entitled, including respite care for your daughter so that you can have a rest. Try them at WINZ. II's worth a try. They seem to especially appreciate a person who is open and honest with them.

I wasnt quite sure where to add this , so thought here might be the right place.
I was deleting some old emails when I came across one from Grown Up's from 2009 (yes Im a horder of emails) Anyway it was the one about parents of adult disabled children taking the govenment to the human rights about parents not being paid anything, that stay at home to care for their disabled adult children.
I wondered what the outcome of that was.
I have a 36 year old daughter that lives at home and I can only work a few hours a week while she attends adult classes. Id work alot more if I could but it costs me more for someone to care for her than me staying home to do it myself. Thus causing a huge finacial strain.
Was the issue resolved or did the govenment just slide this one under the mat?
