Georgie boy did your post get moderated into oblivion? great subject is religion when it is fused into Hinduism, Buddhism, Shikism and the 10 Gurus and Christianity, What's your choice, Bharma, Siddhartha Gautama, the Jaines (Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was one), Sikhism and Guru Nanak or Jesus Christ and did these feet in ancient times walk out on Englands mountains green.
The greatest song from Emerson Lake and Palmer, the most powerful piece ever written "And did those feet in ancient time" is a short poem by William Blake from the preface to his epic Milton a Poem. Today it is best known as the hymn "Jerusalem", with music written by Sir Hubert Parry in 1916.

Going Grey, George Harrison blended east and west with this most beautiful song "My sweet lord" and i really enjoy it, Emerson Lake and Palmer really did a good and rousing version of jerusalem.

I love `My Sweet Lord'. (Now, that takes me back to my younger days!)
George Harrison was very underrated me thinks, when it comes to music. His `While My Guitar Gently Weeps' is another example of his beautiful compositions.
I LOVED the `Jesus Christ, Superstar' video. Thanks for that. I've been tempted to buy this movie several times. Don't know why I haven't. You've made me put it on my list of dvds to buy (again).
As much as I love contempory Christian music I have to say I love the `pop' songs too. Far too many to mention, but there's some beautiful and powerful `every day' songs out there.
God bless!

I love Sarah Brightman, she has a great voice and I think her rendition of "I don't know how to love him" is superb:

and Neil Diamond " Brother loves travelling salvation show", great song and I hope you would like to share that with me also, an older Neil Diamond but still performing well

Just browsing, and found this thread.
Yes, I agree that George Harrison was underrated when it came to his music. I still think he was the best.
Another group I have always liked......"Simon and Garfunkel"....their"Bridge Over Troubled Water", which was played at my husband's funeral, still brings a tear to my eye.

a while back I watched 'young at heart' on tv. I was so taken with their 'fix you' I looked it up on youtube. Thats a song done by a group called 'cold play'. The two renderings are quite different but the message is the same. Rather moving stuff... worth looking up the lyrics too.

Is there anybody out there who wants to discuss theology, thoughts on Christianity and such topics? If so, I would love to be a part of it.

Hi Jairo
There are two other threads that you might find interesting, although you may have already explored them.
Both to do with Religion...."Another perspective on the Nature of God"
and "God and Disaster"
Cheers

Just have to say I also like the hymn "Jerusalem"... every time I hear it, it moves me strangely, probably the perfect combination of melody and words. It was also sung at the royal wedding of William and Kate recently.
Not to be confused with the song "Jerusalem" which Gracie Fields used to sing long, long ago.
