Just been reading in the Sunday Star Times of Oct 24, about a new book called "Dress Circle: New Zealand Fashion Design since 1940." Some great pictures to go with the story too, of our lovely NZ fashion models and designers of the past.
However: this is what caught my eye, in a section about 1960s fashion: "Babs Radon, Trilby Yates, Bobby Angus -- many of these women built successful brands in a time when they couldn't legally borrow against, or own, their businesses." WHAT! This seems unbelievable now.
