Very healthy to look at all different opinions/theories and get totally confused. Maybe common sense and moderation should win out.

I have been on statins for the past 15 years and will be seeing my GP tomorrow and asking him to take me off them. After reading the book called The Cholesterol Conspiracy (2nd Edition) Ladd R McNamara MD, I was very inspired with what he had to say. I am totally convinced that I can do it by diet, and an antioxidant combination of Vitamins. I have changed my diet completely and eat a lot more fresh fruit and vegetables and I drink a lot of water. I also buy a lot of organic food, and exercise regularly. I am going to ask my GP to have my homocysteine levels done including my CRP levels. This can be done by a simple blood test. I am also going to discuss with him about coming off my blood pressure medication as I do believe that I can do it, without the medication.

Now that is very interesting majorminor. I'm not a lover of sunscreen (although I do use a facial moisturiser with an SPF30), but not on the rest of my body and have relied on avoidance during the middle of the day to keep my exposure down. Having read that article I think I might make a concerted effort to spend more time in the sun. Sounds far more natural to me than popping pills.

Sounds natural to me as well, so much so, i have started full body sunbathing - i strip off in a nice sheltered spot on deck and started with 10 mins each side and currently up to 20 mins. Of course i had a head start having never used sun screen, ever, and have not used anti-perspirants for years. By flagging the Flu shots means that my last hair analysis showed Aluminum of 1.6 ug/g - so lowish.

I haven't used anti-perspirant for years either. I buy a Crystal Deodorant Stone and have found it amazing, and no nasty chemicals either. Nice!

Try reading "Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease" by Caldwell Esselstyn. It will dispell some of the myths already discussed!
