Thanks for that advice - didnt think about another retailer to ask about the life of the unit. I asked the retailer who referred me to 'technical advisor in AK' who has basically said hard luck - its nearly 5 years old. They have 'as a gesture of goodwill' replaced the shelving that has the split plastic. I also asked about the drainage tray leaking - the kitchen wall behind the unit has rotted because water has been leaking. I want to check the drainage tray for a leak - they are saying it is too dangerous to access it and to call the electrician out - who will charge me $70-00 to call plus labour. The retailer is only 6km away - and has no idea how to access the drainage tray. I am not happy but I seem to be backed into a corner!!??
