Check with your local CAB. Just off hand dont you have to have been in a partnership for 2 years before property etc becomes joint?

Yes, 3 years actually, but it also says "income during the relationship is relationship property", which confuses me.

There is a Community Law Office in Madras Street, if I remember rightly, and they offer free advice. I went to them once with a problem that I didn't want to discuss with our family lawyer, and they were a great help.

My parents lent me a large amount of money to pay the university fees. Now, if I use my personal income to pay back my parents, will that be looked as using relationship property to pay personal debts? My partner and I have been together for over a year. Thanks.
