50 WORD STORY
Mary loved her cats. They were her family. She went without so they could have the best. As her own health failed her darlings had a good, healthy diet. Unseen for days, a neighbour found Mary emaciated. Malnourished, the doctor said. The cats played with a mouse they had caught.

Cats sometimes leave the mice they have caught on the doorstep. How proud they must feel. The problem is, how to dispose of the little rodents.
Should they be picked up by the tail and thrown over the fence to the neighbours? That really wouldnt be a very good idea.

50 WORD STORY
It was a good party but time to go. Dave’s mate had met some girl. He wasn’t leaving yet. Dave decided to walk home, checking the handles of car doors as he passed parked cars. He struck lucky until the owner, an off duty cop, caught him in the act.

"Come outside! Come see what's here."'
The voice of my neighbour's excitement took me rushing to investigate. There she was, with toddler son, both pointing above the boundary wall. On looking up at the dried flax flower stem I spied a grey fur ball.
That mouse was a great climber.

50 WORD STORY
Mike looked around the door, a suitcase at his feet. “I’m off now.”
His wife of 18 years didn’t look up. “Okay, love,” Laura replied.
Hitting `send’ she hurled another `I love my internet friends’ email into cyberspace. Mike’s own note, explaining why he was leaving, was on the table.

Ice covered the window frame making it impossible for Frank to open it. He waited until the sun’s weak warmth melted the ice. Frank pushed the window open just as his captors opened the door. ‘Stop right there,’ shouted a commanding voice. Frank jumped and ran quickly to his freedom.

50 WORD STORY
She sat there at the keyboard, fingers poised. Words rattled around inside her brain but they wouldn’t form into a sentence. Her fingers hovered above the keys. They were itching to get to work, but no letters were pressed. Fifty words, that’s all she needed. How she hated writer’s block!

Wow, Going-Grey what a great new game! Already the imaginations are running rife and I can see we'll be well entertained over the coming winter months ahead. I've been wracking my brains for months trying to think up some new games, with little success, so hats off to you!
And yes, the above contains 50 words.

This can be fun (and infuriating)

Simply tell a complete story in 50 words, or if you prefer, a complete story in 100 words.
It must be the exact amounts (either 50 or 100 words) ... no overs or unders please.
Have a go!
