In the next 2 years, I would like to downsize to two-bedroom accommodation. Retirement Villages appeal to me due to the community atmosphere - being with like-minded and similarly aged people. However, having looked into a few of them, I realise that there are drawbacks.
Two other ideas would be to either buy an apartment in an apartment building or a free-standing unit.
Although I am fully employed now, I shall eventually be on a pension only.
May I please have some input regarding your experiences?
