Thanks. We have decided to go, though it will be a bit rushed. Have opted to train up and motor/fly back to Delhi. Only have three full days in Shimla but, on the other hand, Uzbekistan may tire us out.

We had a good three days and four nights in Shimla. Went Delhi/Kalka by the Shatibad Express (excellent!) and the "toy train" to Shimla (not so excellent). Had a very good hotel and good sight-seeing. Drove down to Chardigargh to fly to Delhi. Pleasant drive with a caring driver.
If anyone is contemplating a visit to this historic area, I am happy to expand.

Anyone here travelled to Simla in recent months? I thought I would ask before submitting questions.
We have had to change our travel back from Uzbekistan and am wondering about coming home through Delhi and taking a side trip to Simla. This will be in May.
As it happens, I will be in Delhi next week and can find out about logistics but am interested in experience and advice from an NZ point of view. We have travelled in India extensively in the past so culture shock is not an issue.
Thanks
