Hi Celiarose,

Have you upgraded your memory in that Computer since you last ran the program? If so then that may well be your problem. There is a fix if that is the case to be found here:-

Okay sweep. Yes I did have the memory upgraded about 3-4 months ago when I was having a slow tired old computer giving me run around.
So now I go onto the above site you have mentioned then? Is it easy to follow for this nervous bod.
Yes I do still have the original programme disc.

Hi Celiarose,

It would appear we have identified the culprit then. It was presumably the memory upgrade that broke the software. Therefore re installing the software off the original media is NOT an option.

In your case the software can't really handle RAM over a certain limit.

As to following instructions from the link I supplied you will have to be VERY careful as if you do it and make a mistake you could end up with your PC not booting at ALL. You are, in fact warned of this in the link.

If you are at all unsure do not do it!!!

I can give you my Phone number and you could ring me and I can lead you through it. You should end up with a system that boots normally by default as it does now. But if you want to run the Greeting program at any time you will have 5 seconds to choose the option that will allow that to happen. We can make that longer though.

It may be time to get a new program though. Personally I use MS Publisher for that which comes with some versions of MSOffice but not all.

No doubt there are others like PictureIt but that is getting older too.

Have a think and do not do anything hasty. smile

By the way I have gone back to the link and it seems easy enough and the comments all say it works.

Feel free to get back to me about this.

Many thanks Sweep for all your help in identifying my problem. Maybe I will quit the programme altogether and further down the track I will get something else. I found it a great programme to use and it was ever so quick to get a card all made up and printed out is a short while.
Thank you also Cookybaby for your time also on this matter. All the best to you both. I am bound to be back at a later date! celiarose.

I don't know if this particular programme is still available, but I bought - very cheaply - a programme called PRINTMASTER.
It will do all sorts of wonderful things like print posters, business cards, make frames for certificates, and countless other things, but the thing I use it for most is for making cards.
They can be vertical or horizontal. You start with the front, flip it to the middle for pages two and three, then over to the back for if you want to put a little box with 'made especially for you" in it with a miniature of the picture on the front.
There are literally thousands of pictures to choose from, some lovely flowers, and scenery.
I've had it since I was using a 286 computer and it still works on my windows7, so it's SO handy. There are actually three cd's, but I usually only use the one as it has all I want on it, although the 'deluxe' CD has a few more upmarket pictures.
I used it to make the labels for our jams and pickles, have done the programme for various clubs. I can't speak too highly of it, but whether you can still get it is another thing.
Wouldn't hurt to try. I think it was $25 when I got it. Probably $250 nowsadsadsadsadsad

Hi Sweep, maybe I HAVE only got 2 CD's, as I said, have only used one for ages. Just too lazy if I choose a picture that says I have to change to the deluxe CD I simply find something else to use.
Glad to hear it's still available, and that sounds like a good price for what it will do.
What I like about it for cards is that it puts them upside down or whatever is needed on the page, then when folded, the card comes out perfectly.

Hi ansy pansy,

Seems reasonable for the price. I will continue using Publisher but I'm sure it would be a good replacement for Celiarose.

The thing I found it handiest for, Sweep, was when I was doing the Tokoroa Floral Art Programme for the year.
I could start off with the front and back pages in landscape, then do page two, and whatever was going to be the inside last page, and they could be printed so that they were back to back. then page three, and the second to last inside page, and so on. I could put a frame around each lot of script to make it look neat and tidy, and add a few flower arrangements also here and there, to pretty it up. The girls thought I was SO CLEVER, yet it was this simple programme on my computer.
Of course it was all saved for the following year, and all that had to be changed then was the dates and events.
Nowadays I hardly ever get the opportunity to use it, and although it has what is supposed to be a facility to email whatever you've done, it doesn't seem to have support for that, which is a pity in this day of cyber mail. When I bought it, I didn't even KNOW about emails, that's how long I've had it, yet it still works on the latest windows7. So many of the programmes that worked on 286 machines seem to have some sort of malfunction as your computer capabilities improve. A bit like my old brain trying to get a hang of Photoshop which is going to be my next project. Got a copy of the trial version from a very nice young man at H.Norman yesterday. No doubt being helpful in order to get a sale out of us when I decide to buy. OR NOT.!!! Hope my next post here isn't one of HEEEEELP!!!!!!

Hi ansy pansy,

Hmmmmmmmm.

PhotoShop is rather expensive I thought although it is fairly much industry standard.

I use Corel Paint Shop X3 which is about $150.00 NZ. You might like to trial that as well.

Price for full version link here:-
