OJ Hadnt seen you on for a day or 2..
We here believe we were created not evolved either, and dont find it a 24/7 aim to argue with folk about it...!
We have far too busy a life and happy days, than to conjure up thoughts and copy n paste facts n figures when most on here can read things themselves n research what they want..Also if they want to do that its their choice, and mine to read it if I wish or turn the chanell!!
.I find theres so many more really good posts n posters n subjects on GUPS but last few months theres been a couple of threads that get long and involved and may end up as point scoring, but like a couple of months ago i had a problem cos I have slow dialup n holds up with lots of pics and asked and all the members were really good about it. Well 99%
The art and hobbies section was different cos we know when we go there that the pics take time to come through and truly are worth the wait. I give myself xtra time when going there.
I know you are feeling despondent at the minute but dont go too far away

Cheers Kai

OJ-country lads are the salt of the earth. The strength of character coming from years of hard work, putting others first and noticing those who need a helping hand are priorities that town people perhaps do not realise about country folk...
There are many townies who dream of a life in the country(perhaps not the wild king country though
) Not so much nostalgia, but the honest way of life-going to bed and rising when the birds do.choosing simplicity rather than pseudo-sophistication.
'Back when the cowboy was king-
Back when a handshake meant everything.
when a man's word was his bond
and held straight as a string
Back when the cowboy was king'
I have a friend in the US-Steven Spalding, who is a professional singer, poet and artist.
Some of his songs are on youtube

you might enjoy 'Back when the cowboy was king'-and'old cowboys never die'
cheers Jack-don't go away now y'hear?

Dont you dare move away OJ...your beliefs are YOUR beliefs and dont let anyone tell you any different. I dont get too involved in religious discussions as I think it is something personal, however I would defend to the death your right to have them.
The King Country is getting pretty civilised now

OJ I am married to a King Country boy, and when I first knew him, I was unsure of some of his behaviour. One in particular when we would be having a few beers down at The Kings Arms on a Saturday afternoon, gathered around on stools at a large table, all trying to talk at once. There was one coot there that nobody particularly liked, but was tolerated by the others.
Except for my husband, he would turn his back to him and ignore him. It was so obvious to everyone, and I used to feel sorry for this guy.
I would say to my beloved, 'don't be so rude.' He replied, 'he pisses me off, why should I bother with him.'
Since that comment I admired his honesty, and have learnt not to put up with other people's crap, except I find it difficult to ignore them but tell them what I think. Though I wish I could be more like him, turn the other cheek and ignore.
I am sorry but you are a treasured icon on this site, and 'ewe' are not allowed to leave us.

OJ. You are not a quitter. By ignoring the evolution thread it will fade into the sunset. The repetitious drones go in one ear and out the other. You have much more to give than trying to outwit the evolution thread. An antagonist will run out of fresh data if it is ignored. A few tales from your interesting lifestyle will provide entertainment while your humour and serious side give us something to ponder on and chew. It is life today as we know it that is to be lived, not ancient tales with dubious authorship. I take my hat off to you. OJ and I will miss you if you quit.

Hey ! Old Jack.
God and evolution will always be contensious subjects and will often
cause people much angst. I have not agreed with you on many occasions but I respect your strong beliefs. In this great country of ours, we are free to express our beliefs and long may it stay that way. Religous threads will come and go but I hope grown-ups continues as even the elderly must be able to vent their feelings and I think we can learn a lot from each other. Strange...... I feel I know you but will never meet.
Hang in there mate.

None of us will ever agree on everything, often it's a matter of degree, for example "Thou shalt not kill' for me that rules out capital punishment, for others it has other meaning.
If a subject becomes too obnoxious I keep away.
I agree with nobody on everything.

Well I know I am only an old rough country boy from the King Country and there aint no country rougher than the King Country. And I suppose that there aint many boys rougher than those from the King Country either.
But I have had a guts full. I am sick and tired of being abused by people because I refuse to believe in the same religion as them. And a religion is all that evolution is because despite the way they rant and rave there is no proof and in fact there is more proof against it.
The entire theory could possibly only be viable if they could say where or how life started and show us at least one genuine link between two different species. The best they can come up with is a similarity in design.
Both God and science say that everything can only reproduce after it's own kind.
But that is O.K. for them to believe that because they can believe what they like and that is not what I am on about. And they can put forward whatever theory they like to and push it with all the vigour they like as well.
But I am thoroughly sick of they way anyone who does not believe the same way as them and says it is continuely abuse.
Therefore this place is looking like a waste of my time. There are many people on here who I regard as friend even though we have never met. But sometimes there comes a time in a man's life when he needs to move on and it looks like this is one of them
Cheers
