Has anybody used a book editor they can reccomend? I have been busy writing about my experiences as a mother of a son who sustained brain injury and would like someone to take a look at it, have I got the balance right, what should I take out, leave in etc. Would welcome constructive feedback before I decide what to do with manuscript.

My sister wrote a similar book,Ann,called 'Double grief'-ten stories from grandparents experience. It makes poignant reading. It was within her work in the Special education part of the ministry of Ed.It is difficult to get a book published because of the expense.
Perhaps enquire at your local school or library for advice.

Hello Ann
Your post is a few months old, but I wonder whether you ever found an editor for your book. If you haven't, I would be very interested in taking a look at it for you. I am a free-lance editor. I have a Diploma in Book Editing, Proofreading and Publishing, and a merit pass in the Editorial module of the Whitireia Diploma in Publishing. Please contact me if you want to take this further.
Breeuwer.
