Hi DizzyDaisy. I got home at about 5.40pm, had dinner, then went to my Lions meeting.
It was a lovely catch up and great to meet you at last KiwiKathy -- but we really did miss those of you who couldn't come.

Sorry, I didn't take any photos, Going-Grey. Left my camera at home.
I certainly feel ready for bed now, but will look in on chat to see who is there first!

So sorry I missed meeting with you all yesterday. My neighbour's husband needed me more than she did me-thinks.
Sitting outside New World Regent today 11.30 to about 1pm collecting for the MS Society. Why does it always turn out cold on this day - it's the 3rd I've done it over the past years and every time it is quite bitter. At least it is a shorter stint this time and I just might make it to a movie as a reward
Flipped my calendar to Sept. and there are black scribbles all over it - so another busy month. Take care all and keep breathing

Really enjoyed meeting kiwi kathy and catching up with the others today and what a great place for lunch. But everyone agreed that the servings and sandwiches are SO big. The muffin I had could have fed at least two people. You do get your moneys worth. What a great place Arthurs Emporium is. In future I will give Spotlight a miss.
Nice to see the sun today...........Love Valz

Hi Valz, good that you have found an alternative to Spotlight. I'm still baffled by their 'no bag policy'. Glad to that you found Arthur's Emporium worth a trip. You and Jeanz must send us a picture of your camels ..... As you say Valz, The Tea House is a nice meeting place.
MumB, hope that your stint at New World for the MS Society is very productive. I was a collector for nearly twenty years for the Royal NZ Foundation of the Blind. Pleased now that I have now retired .... Horrendous changes since I left, and last year for the first time I refused to give my time as a collector.
Valsi, where do you get the energy? Bus-ing to and from Whangarei, and then dashing off to a Lion's meeting. Is there something in the Dargaville water that we need to know about?

Really lovely to get to lunch yesterday and laugh and chat. I had my camera with me making sure batteries were charged and, as is usual with me, forgot to use it!
I have just got home from Primary School Cross Country races at Barge Park. I was there from 9.15 to 12 and it was COLD and nowhere to sit down. What a lot of exhausted muddy kids at the end of each race, somewith ankle, leg muscles pulled (one of them had to be Zoe, of course) and St. John were kept busy. It was a long hard course and the kids all did well just to get round it. Glad to be home out of the wind.
So, lovely time yesterday in great company. I even managed to do my grocery shopping after and be home in time for school finishing. A lot achieved by my standards.
Love to you all till we meet again.

Sounds like you had a good time yesterday!! Sorry I couldn't make it to the catch up. I had my daughter staying here this week, she went home today, also my sister and brotherlaw had to come unexpectedly for a funeral on Wednesday, they live in Papamoa, BOP, so I had a busy week. I am not sure when I will make another catch up. Are we having one in early October?

Hi everyone, September sort of snuck up on me, and have just realized that this coming Sunday is the monthly happening of the Northern Jazz Society at The Salut Restaurant in Bank Street. Playing will be The Tony Lockhart Trio, followed by the Maura Flower Trio. No foot stamping Trad' Jazz. Is anyone interested? Entry is via a gold coin donation - and you don't have to purchase a meal. Some make do with coffee or a cold drink.
Anyway, would appreciate a response ASAP.
Cheers DD

Just a thought ......... For those of you who have seen today's Northern Advocate, turn to page 2 of the 'Savvy Magazine'. Picture #5 shows the BRANTOME VILLA. It is in Crane Road - off SH1. A beautiful setting overlooking a lake, and they do Devonshire Teas for $10pp. For this you get two scones with jam and cream, and tea or coffee

I have today made enquiries ..... Individuals or groups ..... they would only require a days notice, and always to phone first. What do you reckon????? Jean and Valz, if you were heading down this way, then for your journey home you would already be on SH1
Crane road is only a few minutes North of Kamo. When I talked to the lady there today, my taste buds were already starting to react

Love and hugs DD

We missed those of you who could not make it today .... but for those of us who were there - lot's of talking and laughing. Lubbly dubbly

Nice to finally meet you KiwiKath, and looking forward to a GUP's happening out your way.
At least some stores (The Warehouse), give the option of no bags - or charging for a bag. Maggie and I were behind you as you turned into Clyde Street, and so reckoned that you were heading for the bigger and better Arthurs Emporium. It's big eh!

JeanZ, very surprised to see you on the computer so soon after your long journey home. However, good that you and ValZ did manage the journey down. Mystified as to why 'Spotlight' would not give you bags. Surely would make you not want to go back
Valsi, what time did you get home? I was good today at Palmers .... Usually I cannot resist looking at and buying a sick plant. That however, did not happen today.
Love to you all
DD
