New Zealand is a wonderful country, with so much to offer. Why do people want to go overseas before they have actually seen the wonders of their own country? There is so much beautiful scenery, and even much of what isn't beautiful has a magnificence of it's very own. Most people by the way, take little or no notice of the wondrous sights and experiences that are theirs for the taking. History, scenery, diversity, you name it we've got it right here.

Good morning,
Well its Spring here in New Zealand. A lovely time of the year for travelling around New Zealand.
I have personally done a Travel & Tourism Course here in Wellington which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Having travelled extensively throughout New Zealand there is not many places that I have not been. There are some beautiful camping spots, reasonably priced motels/homestay/farmstay accommodation for all type of budgets.
If anyone wants to know of places to go or tourist attractions to visit I am only to happy to help.So if you are intending visiting New Zealand and want to know any information, just asked here on this thread.lol

One of the oddest things I saw was when we were on the road to Milford sound (a spectacular trip)---at several stopping places we seemed to strike the same busload of Japanese tourists also stopped-they would scramble out of the bus,run to the scenic view, then turn their backs on the view and pose for a photo then run back to the bus, hardly even looking !!!

some years ago now was on a bus tour in Europe and if you were sitting behind Japanese tourists it was not a joke they got into their seats pulled the blinds and slept until the next city, were not interested in scenery only getting to next destination and hitting the shops and I suppose the night spots

I have two friends coming from Norway in early March. We had talked about doing a campervan trip of the South Island but I thought a bus tour would be better for us. Does anyone have any recommendations, e.g. tour company, itinerary etc? I will have about 14 days free. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Jan.

Hi JanBeau
Unique Tours do a wonderful 21 day bus tour of the South Island and are very reasonably priced. We did their March trip this year and would highly recommend it. They are based in Palmerston North but there were several groups from Auckland on our tour. I realise it is more than your 14 days but well worth the extra week if you can manage the time.
