All this business of MP's perks is rearing its ugly head again.I expect a lot of our trouble stems from the mucky goings on that is happening in Britain.But on the strength of our problems with Parliamentarians; is it perhaps something we the people should have been more vigilant about.I can remember many years ago the MP's voting themselves more pay and entitlements.I mean you look at it,Not only themselves but their families get many perks-free travel overseas,free this and that.And this had been happening for many long years.I do think some of our MP's deserve their generous salaries,but we the public should voice loudly our concerns about all these other tit bits we are not aware of.I see with disgust this morning that it says Taito Phillip Fields is still entitled to free travel etc. Its about time wouldn't you think that we had more transparency about what our Mps have allowed themselves. They tell us totighten our belts. Which we seem to be doing at their expense.

well meegeebee i think the politicians should tighten their purse strings themselves,i dont believe they need that amount to survive on at all.
and as for some of the perks they seem to be getting on all this travel i totally disagree. Taito Phillips right now should be stopped totally.
also i think if they are not in the selected govt of the time , they shouldnt be getting what they get. yep okay they need a wage but really they are just milking the system. cheers pearly

I wish people would stop callin Fields " TAITO." This title is reserved for chiefs and V.I.P.s not for thieves and conmen, the sooner those that bestowed it on him remove it ,as these are the only people who can cancel the title.Knowing him he will milk the system as much as he can.

I mean if you look at some of the pacific islands generally,they are all diddling their own people.It's only when you don the precious mantle of an MP, and err, you get caught.Our present government dont even have laws in place to deal with his case.

Not only do they get all this free or subsidised travel FOR LIFE but we also subsidise their super scheme. For every $1 they put in, we, the tax payer put in $2.50. They voted this in sometime after midnight so there would be no-one in the public gallery. By the time we all woke up next day, it was all set in stone.

i reckon all politicians that are not actually in the working govt ,should only get a wage and nothing more. they are doing nothing.national is in and its national that should be paid . cheers pearly
