My dearest step daughter 20/08/74-05/08/06

You came into my life,
At the slender age of seven.
But at age thirty one,
You ended up in heaven.

But the days in between,
You gave us such joy.
With happiness is how you lived,
It was your ultimate ploy.

Your school reports,
Were always so good,
You learned all you were taught,
In the best way you could.

You were always respected,
By all your workmates.
And you never took shit,
From any of your dates.

You tended to your father
When he took ill.
And faithfully executed,
All of his will.

You returned to the sea,
To catch many fish.
And to skipper a boat,
Was your ultimate wish.

But a serious illness,
Came your way.
And the Lord told us all,
You were near the end of your day.

We hugged you and kissed you,
Right to the end.
For we knew that your tumour,
Would never mend.

Then a nurse called and said,
Your time will be soon.
Then that night a huge halo,
Encircled the moon.

But there was no sadness,
When we shed a tear,
For we knew in our hearts,
You would always be near.

Our memories of you,
Will always be golden.
They're tucked deep in our souls,
To be neither lost nor stolen.

So farewell dear girl,
May you now rest in peace.
For a small part of heaven,
Is now free to lease.

You have no more use,
For your bright crystal bangle.
'Cause now you've become,
Someone's guardian angel.

A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands were put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us,
He only takes the best.

We thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
We thought about you yesterday,
And the days before that too.

We think of you in silence,
We often speak your name.
But all we have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.

Your memory is our keepsake,
With which we’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
But we have you in our hearts.

It’s been 3 long years now,
Since you quietly went away,
But the pleasure in your memories,
Help brighten up our day.
