Hi folks not sure if this is the right place to put my comments but it looked empty and seems the right thread for them.smile

I just want to say that since coming back to GUPS ( I was here last year but only for about a month) I have been tuning into the Solid Gold FM radio station and enjoying hearing all the old hits I used to love!! It rolls back the years and makes me feel quite young again! lol
Thank's Solid Gold I love to listen to your station, and thank's too to GUPS for such a great social networking site, it beats all those other sites for me!!

razz HI folks. What a breath of fresh air listening to Solid Gold Fm. Never hear any repeats and it is the music we can all sing along to. Keep it up guys. Only tune into your station now and have the car stereo and home stereo and the work stereo tuned in so can listen all day. Loved the top 500 list brought back wonderful memories.

Cheersbiggrin

Whew! That's pretty negative for a first post Dogsbreath. Are you just showing off, or have shares in the opposition? wink

I enjoy the station, turn the volume up for an old favourite, and have a sing, or dance with the dogs. Takes me back to another time when life was sweet and innocent. smile

Imagine how the later generations are going to be singing along to their hits. And a duh, diddy duh, and a duh and a duh (mostly expletives) with a duh duh duh, ina duh diddy duh. A suppose its good if you can"t remember words "cause you're deaf from the boom box in your car. But I like to singalong too and remember when life was more congenial. wink

I must congratulate Dogsbreath on a great run of adjectives. I may not agree with your comments about the radio station but the string of denigrations was inspiring. Did you ever read Barry Crump's book which devoted a whole page to descriptions of a mangy dog? Kaiparaeek

Funny how things go in circles . People looking back fondly at these hits of the past would once have been considered 'young rebels' by their elders for listening to the very same songs!lol

love solid gold, songs from my day that all had some meaning. Am a great fan of the Eagles, Doobie Brothers, Simon n Garfunkel etc. Brilliant songwriters in all the above. I have tryed to listen to todays music but find it terribly depressing and monotonous (spelling), some are ok but nahhhh, will stick with what I know.

Would be keen to hear what DOGSBREATH would prefer to listen to....."Who lets the dogs out!! Wooof woof woof woof"...hehecool

We have new neighbours. A couple in their 20s. They play their music loud but I'm not complaining because they play a lot of 80s music, unlike the previous tenant who was a reggae fanatic. He used to drive me nuts. rolleyes

Have to laugh ... can't stand reggae now, but back in the 80s I was a huge Bob Marley and 10CC fan. Must be getting old. redface

Actually, I think I still have `Dreadlock Holiday' in my collection of ... records. mrgreen
