Has anybody managed to find a way to reduce tummy fat??? I'm sure it has just arrived with menopause!
I am walking 2-3 times a week, going to the gym 2-3 times a week, (if I don't walk) and watching what I eat.
Joined weight watchers on line but in the last 2-3 months have only managed to shift 500gms.
I have been writing down what I eat too.
HELP!!!

Streuth - its an epidemic. Me too. And its only happened in the last 4 or 5 months. Not only is it flabby tummy but its got this 'orrible cellulite stuff on it. I only weigh 60 kg so its not all over. I think you may be right golfing kiwi - its the dreaded "M". I've started doing sit ups and will let you know if that works. Otherwise I wait with baited breathe for a miracle cure. The bikini may have to disappear for ever. Sorry guys if thats all too much info.

Hi - oh my goodness, I saw this discussion and knew I'd found an answer I just had to share. I'm nowhere near the M stage of life but I know about tummy fat, spare tyres etc!

I've done WW too, in the past. Lost 5kg in 2 months, then stopped WW and put it all back on again PLUS more.

At 84kg knew I had to so something - was feeling flabby and bloated. I don't feel like that now though. :-)

I've lost 9.6kg so far - quite slowly over the last 6 months - but I can hardly take the credit for it, either. It has been quite easy as I've been using a meal replacement shake which is yummy, quick to make and is great especially if eating alone - no-one else to eat with etc. (I'm married buy my hubby doesn't eat a lot as he's sick at the moment).

Anyway, it supposedly gives you all the nutrition you need so your body lets go of the stuff it doesn't need! And if I replace two meals a day with this shake (I add banana etc), the weight just falls off. 1.3kg last week. One week! Others have had weightloss of 3kgs in one week with exercise added and eating well. I lost that weight last week just having the shakes and not even eating well around it. I'm sure that's not recommended though. But it still worked for me. redface

I did the weightloss as part of a community weightloss challenge. You pay about $35 for 12 weeks of advice, weigh-in meetings etc (not like $15 - $22 a week with WW) and the money at the end gets given as a prize to the biggest (weight percentage) losers. I didn't win anything as lost about 7% of my bodyweight - the winner lost 15%!

Anyway, the shake is from Herbalife. It's called 'Formula One.' Costs about $40 per week. It's a direct sales company so you have to buy it through a distributor or through one of their websites. Or contact me and I might be able to post some to you or direct you to someone selling it in your area?

If it's worth $40 a week to get fit, trim and feeling good about yourself - I highly recommend it. It has been so worth it for me and I'm doing the next community challenge - my third - until I the good nutritional advice 'sticks' and I'll stay on the meal shakes til my goal weight of 66kg, and then just maintain that weight with one shake a day.

All the best!

biggrinGood on you Lillybeth, I too found Formula 1 and lost 5kgs in 4 weeks. I love the product and as I am on my own no cooking required, its so quick and only a shaker and spoon for dishes. In fact love it so much I joined the business so if anybody wants to try the products please get in touch.

Before you eat (or drink) any soy based food like Formula 1, you should at least read some of the negative opinion on soy foods.
See this site:-
http://www.soyonlineservice.co.nz/

The most natural way to loose weight is to reduce your carbohydrate intake, e.g. sugar, bread, potatoes etc.
These are the foods that are causing the obesity epidemic because they are quickly converted into triglycerides by the liver and stored as fat.

We are eating far too much carbohydrate because of the "Eat Healthy Food" propaganda we are continually bombarded with.

I'm in the same boat, guys, and it's awful because I'm relatively trim everywhere else, just this "basketball" in front of me for the last couple of years... I exercise etc, get lots of fresh air and eat healthily, don;t have the patience or money for weightloss programmes, and liquid diets like the milkshake method are just temporary fixes. But these are my thoughts: If you haven't exercised in a long time, and if you've had children and your muscle tone is gone, then you will always have a little paunch, even if you exercise yourself into the ground. However, short of a tummy tuck (expensive but sensational results) you can wear a spandex bodyshaper and just, as the previous poster says, cut out all those things that puff up our stomachs = = bread, cake, biscuits, muffins, pasta, potatoes, baked beans, ice cream, fizzy drinks, white rice etc. (Brown rice is ok.)
I have started eating only lean meat/fish, all the colours of vegetables except potatoes, all the fruits, a tiny bit of dairy and cheese, teas, water, and eggs. No heavy sauces made with flour, etc, or anything like that. It's hard not to reach for a bun or sandwich, but it can be done with planning. To save myself from feeling totally deprived I have decided to have a very small portion of something I fancy not more than once a week or so, from the "no-no"list. After a couple of weeks I'm getting back that nice light feeling again. I think in our culture we have got too used to the feeling that if we don't get up from the table feeling stuffed then we're not well fed.
