Long, straight roadds, dusty, orange red,
paddocks far and wide,
flocks of parrots feeding on the fields of wheat and grain.
Salmon gums glowing tall and stately
so beautiful in the morning light.
Kangaroo hops away across the road ahead
Foxy disappears amid the roadside scrub.
The sun is warming up to another brilliant day.
Hard, granite rocks appear upon the plains
dry as dust from weeks of no rain.
Few sheep graze on pastures dry and bare.
Straight long road ahead between avenues of gums
Far into Australia's outback farms with clear blue sky.
Here we have a track amid the flowering shrubs
Colours brightly glowing, orange, white and red
blue, yellow, grey and green for miles and miles can be seen.
Birds, unseen singing amid the taller trees
not too hot to view them with the gentle breeze.
Insects bite and prickles prick and ants a mighty size.
The Sanpan, a monument,
to Nature-the wise.
