Hi Pixie,

By changing that tickbox, it means that no mail will be sent (if there are any messages waiting to be sent) when Windows Mail opens, and it will not check for any messages on the server. That won't be what is causing the problem and you will have to manually check for mail by clicking on "Send/Receive".
