The rain has certainly been welcomed, but did it have to be so cold. I tried to stay warm without the heater but my feet were frozen so on it went last night.

My turn to host our neighbourly games of euchre today and that means something for the cuppa after. Nothing in the tins, so either a trip across the road or I will have to bake something. Oh dear, even the simplest needs can become a chore in old age. Am trying to forego all those goodies. Willpower very low.rolleyesrolleyes

It would be so nice if it rained every night and lovely days...if the wind has to be strong will it can be at night as well and we could do with just a little wind if it is going to be really hot..coolcoolcoolcool.

I feel really sorry for the people whose homes are being bulldozed down today as they werent told..eekeekeekeek.... it was a big part of their history that is being flattened whether they were payed out or not.......eekeekcrycry.
It was really being forced out by the quakes...A whole suburb is going, 1 at 1st and then they will start on others, soon there will be no east side at all....
This is what the rest of N.Z. don't fully understand, I think as well as the rest of the world. There daily lives just carry on... while life is being destroyed here.............Hearts are being broken day by day and we just have to cope with it...crycrycry.

30 years of hell to still have to put up with. As the childern grow they will leave and it will only be the old here........what will happen the CHCH eventually...Will it end up as a country town, after all who would want to live here unless they have to....
Maybe theyoung adults will be here while the uni is here then I cannot see them staying on after that....rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

I cant drive anymore and so have to sell my car.......I find the pain is so much now that I cannot use my crutches......rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes......sometimes I wonder why on earth life is worth living when you have to live in pain.....
To me its a bit like those houses coming down, I am coming down as well and am not getting any say in the matter at all either......rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes

It is so good listening to the rain tonight, although I would rather be asleep. But, I would rather listen to it now and know that I will properly get my washing dry today....biggrinbiggrinbiggrin
It has been a bad night but I have this and can stay near my man in bed than out in the lounge where I used to go, but he never liked that...
It is so nice to know that after 40 years he would rather me be by him even if I have the light on with this...biggrinbiggrinbiggrin

I have a cardigan for a little girl that I have to finish but am going away and will have it done before we go away, all I have to do is 1/2 a sleeve and I am being very lazy over it.
I really need to start the winter jumpers for the children of church. They have a group for young mothers who dont have a lot of money and need company, so they come to play and have lunch once a week and if any need a jumper or cardi for there children they are there in a cupboard for them..

Our silly cat got caught out in the rain last night on the conservatory roof and needed the light to get down and inside on the bed as fast as possible..lollol:lol....:It had just started to rain and with no light on she couldnt find her way down, so I turned the light on and left her to it...rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes
Edward and I are off in the weekend to go away for a week. It will be nice to get away, and the kids are back at school so it will be nice and quiet for us, it is just wondering where to go and it not to far away from home...
Edward doesnt feel to well to pull the caravan to far, so we have a few places and just have to figure out which one its going to be...rolleyesrolleyesrolleyes
WELL ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY WONT YOU....biggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

A pinch and a light tap for the first of the month, reine. Nice to hear you and Edward are getting away for a few days. Being together out of town will be a relief, so what about the Coast or Geraldine. Wherever, have a lovely break from the stress here. lollollol

Thanks Joy,
have been thinking of geraldine, it is lovely down there. So long as all this wind has blown itself out. My little chick is growing well and I now have to famies with the older hens and the young ones with mum. 4 of the 5 younger ones are half grown and its so funny trying to see how mum who adopted the older chicks trying to have 1 smaller chick under her wing and then theres 4 others trying to get under her wings as well and they are all half grown and dont really fit but she has a good go at it..;.

The hens decided to change there place for laying their eggs and Edward couldnt find them anywhere............they had made a nest under a rose bush right at the back of it.
Not an easy plqce to get them, there were 15 3eggsw, so that was the last couple of days eggs all in an awkward place, but they have been found out .
Well the wind has come up and I hope your washing is dry as it wont stay on the line long enough to dry.....
HAVE A GREAT DAY ALL......coolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcoolcool

Unfortunately I do not know what was said in another thread but it seems a shame that I and others will be denied your and Linda's company because of some one else.
If I do something to offend I expect to be taken to task but if some one else does something to offend I do not expect to be ostracise because of it.

Sorry you feel you have to leave us because of this - what ever it was or is.

Thinking of all of all you people in Christchurch today whether you are attending the memorial service or just remembering in your own way. Chins up and keep up the good work. You are to be admired for your stamina. Love crywinksmile

Thank you Justme. It has been a hard day for many of us. Cheeryatrics gathered for coffee as usual this morning & supported one another as we remembered. It is a great comfort to us to have the love & support from fellow Grownups in other places.
