Hi all, anybody else experienced this? Problem: food sits in a lump in the hollow at the top of my stomach. Scenario. For the last 5 weeks out of the blue...food started sitting like a lump in the hollow between top of my ribs. Also a lot of flatulence when I eat, and Im suddenly constipated. I dont think I swallow air when I eat. I eat very healthy foods eg natural yoghurt, soup, fruit, veg, not a lot of meat, porridge, nuts, and okay I have the occasional biscuit (or two with a cuppa ) not at the moment though cause of above. Its not usual for me to have problems with digestion, and I dont get heartburn or reflux. When I swallow I can feel what i ate just sitting there...yuk! I'm usually a fit active and healthy person, and am my correct weight etc... Got me mystified...Not into Doctors much..just fill you up with Pills. Ive been trying Aloevera juice with milkthistle before I eat the last 5 days, but nothings changed. I thought there may be an inflammatry stomach virus or something thing going around as I am just getting over a bronchial thingy. Would appreciate feedback..Ta

hi ya,
fibre is advised but as we age it gets harder to deal with!
If I were you and I arn't .. just try a very light diet, no fibre. Whatever is causing the back up can be releived by a few of days of easy light food.
Not cured but helpful.
Our metabolism slows and really can't deal with complex fibre.
Flatulance is caused by food sitting in the gut, charcoal tablets are great for absorbing the gas created by fibre gaps or slow metablolism..
thats my big though for the day.
Charcole is a helper but tummy needs a balance and acidophilus is the best helper as a food.
You really do need to see a doc. and just tackle the problem rather than avoiding it.
:-)

Sounds like you may have a swelling at that point true blue..maybe a temporary thing or may need intervention.

I think after 5 weeks you should get this checked out, especially as it's something unusual for you having no history of digestion problems.

I had terrible trouble with sort of same symptoms over Xmas..I put it down to when I thought about it that I had been put on Lipex tablets for my high cholesterol. Stopped them as I felt like I had angina, but with that all investigated and came to nothing looked back at when my symptoms started They were much as you discribed.
The other thing i did as im not into pill taking either was
Found a Body talk practicitioner ( its a tapping natural health method) which relates symptoms to emotions . The lady I found was excellent , symptoms went over night then she moved so then i had been reading about magnetic healing and found a lady in taupo, as my sore chest indigestion came back a couple of months later went to her and same thing fixed overnight. Stress is something to look at too plus age I think.
Plus I went gluten free as much as i could also.
