i have intentions of doing the four familys,at this point concentrating on gows, the other three are started and lots of imfo on them ,but i have nearly finished my gow tree. 1860 came to nz ,gone back a generation to that in scotland as well.
my imformation has come from talking to different ones in the family.writng a lot of letters, morman church in hamilton, lbrarys, electerol rolls, joing the nz genealogy society years ago .i am not a current member now but trying to join up again.internet has heaps of sites to look at as well. so its been a long time working and researching .getting things right

pearly. I was lucky enough to have access to a Family Bible that my Dad has. It is past down to the eldest Routh son. Routh being my maiden name. Births deaths and marriages have been recorded in this Bible since the begining of 1800. So I had a good start. I too have wriiten letters to relatives still in England - joined internet forums/ message boards, where I made contact with others following the same tree. I spent a lot of time on the internet looking at church records. Most of the family came from a village in Hemingbrough yorkshire . However my mothers side is much harder to research. Very few older people are alive - and none seem to know much about their ancestors. I ahve been researching for many years on and off - and have about 600 names now dating back to 1650 - but so far they are mostly just names and I would now like to *know* a little about as many as possible.

Hi Pearly
I note that you are doing genealogy.
I have been doing 7 families for years, and have invested in the latest ANCESTRY,COM. program, which has been a great help to me.
If i can be of any assistance , you only have to ask.
