I am finally back on broadband, having reached the day that my data rolls over again to 10gb, but I am still sitting here waiting for the photos to appear.
A couple of years ago I could have told you the name of that wee pink flower. No-one would believe that I passed my plant knowledge test with over 95%, but that was before I no longer had a garden, and forgot the names of most of the plants.(The say if you don't use it, you lose it, well it sure applies to plants). I even had the durn thing in my garden. I'm sure.

Lawnmowernz, my heart goes out to you in this most emotionally draining time. To have the upheaval all around you is one thing. To then have to down tools and say goodbye to a friend is another. And to top it off you have to go through the trauma of losing your own son. All 3 at once must be something beyond comprehension to we who have not a care in the world but our own little bubble. It is times like this that I wish I could wiggle my nose and make it all go away for you.

Hi Sunshine
A friend of ours around the road was telling my wife this afternoon that she was over at Brooklands this morning helping her son and family. He had to jemmy his doors open. She says that his property is totally destroyed. Such a shock. Brooklands is just north of ChCh and towards the sea and the name describes the area as originally was.
Kaiapoi has been hard hit, especially on the eastern side.
The town is under curfew again tonight 7 - 7. Again tomorrow there will be no bus services operating, for the third day. My wife has heard from her boss who has check out their work place out near the airport. Everything there is all ok. but her big problem is knowing what way to get there as roads on her normal route are advised closed in one area. And to cap it off, we have a friend of the family whose funeral is tomorrow afternoon.
We are hoping that things get a little better in a couple of weeks as we are then holding the memorial service for our late son who was assumed drowned 12 months ago. Have family coming from all over NZ and nephews coming home from the USA in time.
So in some ways the quake came just early enough. Whatever it is it is meant to be.
