I have a naughty habit of pairing up the various breeds to potential owners. When I read your post Jeff I immediately thought of Mark Sainsbury. A lovely man to have on TV and a Snauzer would be an ideal doggy for him. They are lovely dogs but can be on the large size. The middle size is just right. Can you tell us a bit about the breed?

A German breed, - for the purpose of guarding property and ratting (hence the facial hair). They don't moult and have little "odour". They need clipping about every 3 months to maintain appearance. They have a great character ranging from mildly placid to "feisty"! Colours range from black, to salt / pepper, through to sandy / tan colours. She is a great guard dog, but after meeting a stranger will be fine, (unless she takes a dislike for some reason). The "giant's" are a huge dog and from the few we've seen can be a bit of a handful. The minatures are cute with the same characteristics of the standards. We feel the standards are the ideal size (fits on the lap) and recommend them to anyone.

I have a minature schnauzer aged 6 years and she is delighful as a pet, very obedient and very loving, although at times gets a bit sulky when she know I am going out and leaving her behind, stays on my bed until I get home. I also like the standard schnauzer but a little to strong for me to handle as I am not in my teens anymore. Time to go as she is waiting to get on my lap and watch TV with me.

Hi Jeff, I also take my little Schnauzer to the Groynes, so in future will look out for a Standard Schnauzer with a owner called Jeff.

Hi, We've got a standard schnauzer, who we've had for 4 1/2 yrs now. We've met up with plenty of minatures but very few standards, or even giants. Anymore in the ChCh area? The dog parks are great, especially at the Groynes.
